InMobi, the global independent mobile advertising network, has made strategic moves to confirm its focus on the African continent. Isis Nyong’o, vice president and managing director for Africa said “InMobi is investing to grow and enhance our presence in Africa”.
As part of its strategy, InMobi appointed Moses Kemibaro as sales director for Africa. Kemibaro was previously the founding regional manager at Dealfish East Africa. He also co-founded and led Dotsavvy as one of Kenya’s full-service digital agencies for close to ten years and he also established mobile marketing as one of Dotsavvy’s key offerings.
“InMobi is a global organisation with a singular focus on mobile technology”, says Kemibaro, “Mobile is of huge importance for Africa as for many people it is the only screen they access the internet from in addition to a multitude of other services. Brands cannot afford to ignore this paradigm shift.”
Nyong’o points out “While Africa may have lagged behind when it came to website development, we are now seeing African companies leaping forward and deploying mobisites and mobile applications”.
The independence of the InMobi advertising network can be attributed as one of the reasons for it’s success, as a start up company only five years old, it served 9.2 billion advertising impressions in Africa alone in January, and 93.4 Billion worldwide.s in Africa alone in January, and 93.4 Billion worldwide.
