I am responsible for building long-term strategic partnerships with the mobile network providers across Northern Europe, with a particular focus on the UK’s four carriers. The mobile carriers are constantly looking at ways to drive the top-line number. Meanwhile, the application providers, the brands and the platforms are seeing exponential growth in revenues and profit. All using the carriers’ airwaves and customers. InMobi Telco is the conduit that enables the carriers to tap into this eco-system and its commerce marketplace, seamlessly.
Having spent most of my over 20 years of work experience in the telco industry, I would like to think that I have a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities that are within this space and how InMobi’s services truly add value to it. I started my career in sales by joining Xerox and working there for several years in various roles. I have held commercial/sales leadership roles at TalkTalk, Vodafone, Sky and Cable and Wireless.
When I was at Xerox we all dismissed the alarming predictions by Microsoft’s Bill Gates of a paperless office. Fast forward 10 years, whilst playing snake on my Nokia 3310 in 2005, a colleague told me that he believes that will be receiving emails, watching movies and paying mortgages on our handsets. Having witnessed Microsoft’s success, I believed him. Today the average consumer spends close to four hours every day on a mobile device, and studies show that 90% of this time is within the apps on the device. I paid this month’s mortgage through my mobile. Mobile is the next big thing.
The answer is belief. Belief in the product, belief in the leadership and belief in the opportunity. At InMobi, we truly have something very special. Not just the products but also the people. We make a real difference and have a significant impact on our customers' business outcomes. We listen and then deliver on what we say we would do. The world is rapidly moving into the Fourth Industrial Revolution and here at InMobi, we are playing our part by spearheading the transformation through mobile. This is what gets me up every day! It’s an exciting time and an exciting place to be.
I live in South London with my family. I have a passion for the great outdoors with a particular love for the mountains where I ski in the winter and mountain bike in the summer. Closer to home I play golf, fly fish and watch Crystal Palace Football Club play with my youngest son.
