Tell us about your responsibilities at InMobi.
In my current role as the Country Head – Japan, I am leading the team in our Tokyo office to manage and expand our InMobi Demand and InMobi Exchange businesses here.
Japan is the third biggest digital market in the world and an important one for InMobi going forward. I am also actively working towards launching and establishing Glance and Swish in the Japanese market.
What has been your professional journey before you joined InMobi?
I have been working in the Japanese digital marketing and advertising industry for over 22 years. In my previous roles as the Vice President or Japan Country Manager for Verve, Mobvista, Rakuten and Appier, I had the opportunity to get an in-depth understanding of the ad tech industry in the country. In my current position at InMobi, I believe this experience is best put to use.
Who are you outside of work? What are your interests or hobbies?
I was born around the city of Kyoto which was once the capital of Japan and is culturally rich. Since I was brought up in an environment of such significant history and heritage, I love to spend my time exploring historical places and heritage sites in Japan as well as around the world.
I have a deep interest in exploring the culture and history of India, but since I joined InMobi during the pandemic, it hadn’t been possible yet. During my very recent visit to the Bangalore office, I took out the time to do site-seeing around the city and especially enjoyed exploring the Bangalore Palace.
What is it that you love most about working at InMobi?
The InMobi culture is such that it prioritizes its employees and their happiness, and we work together as a family here. Our company culture is flat and makes everyone feel inclusive, no matter which part of the world they are working from. I believe that’s what really makes InMobi a truly international company.
