History

MediaLab first began working with InMobi in 2018 to monetize Whisper. In the interim period, MediaLab expanded their holdings, including buying Kik in 2019. The MediaLab team reinvigorated the relationship with InMobi at the end of 2020.

How InMobi Works with MediaLab

InMobi is integrated with MediaLab’s apps through an Open RTB (oRTB) connection, which gives the MediaLab team the opportunity to monetize their apps with InMobi without requiring a time-intensive SDK integration. MediaLab has a custom header bidding solution, which gives InMobi the opportunity to bid on all banner ad impressions in MediaLab’s apps.

Overall Results

Since November 2020, InMobi has emerged as one of their top 10 partners for monetizing their banner ad inventory. Between November and December 2020, MediaLab saw from InMobi an 18% increase in fill rate, a 54% increase in ad requests and a 67% increase in ad revenue.

Based on the strong results seen in the last two months of 2020, MediaLab will continue to leverage InMobi to successfully monetize in many diverse apps. In addition, the MediaLab is considering using InMobi to monetize interstitial and video ad opportunities alongside banners.
