InMobi Launches Remarketing Platform in South East Asia. Bets Big on Indonesia

The platform has been successfully helping e-commerce players in the region to boost mobile sales.

Indonesia, August 8, 2016 - InMobi, a global mobile advertising and discovery platform, announced today that it is launching a remarketing platform, powered by Miip, in Indonesia. The platform combines the power of big data analytics, creative design and powerful back-end integrations to deliver personalized shopping experiences on mobile apps. The remarketing platform also helps advertisers activate users by nudging them to make their first purchase, re-target existing users to drive incremental sales and re-activate dormant mobile users. This platform has been proven to help e-commerce players in the region.

According to Euromonitor report issued in March 2016, Indonesia’s e-commerce market is expected to see up to five-fold growth from Rp 22.1 trillion ($1.7 billion) last year to Rp 110.5 trillion ($8.5 billion) by 2020. Results also show that 29% of online retail transactions are already being made on mobile devices and considering the fact that most new internet users in Indonesia will access the web predominantly via mobile phones, Indonesia’s e-commerce sector seems poised for mobile-first expansion. InMobi saw this opportunity to develop a remarketing platform that helps e-commerce players to boost their mobile sales.

InMobi has been working with e-commerce players in the region to drive user growth in Indonesia over the last few years. Zalora, a leading online fashion store in South East Asia, has been using the platform to further boost mobile sales. “As an e-retailer, Zalora puts user engagement as a priority. We were impressed by InMobi’s retargeting technology as it allowed us to scale our marketing spend efficiently and improve the performance of our mobile channels. We are happy to be working with InMobi’s committed team as we continue to collaborate in achieving great measurable results,” said Tito Costa, Chief Marketing Officer, Zalora.

InMobi’s remarketing solution, powered by Miip, helps e-tailers reach & promote products to their existing users when they are seen on other mobile apps. Unlike other solutions, InMobi’s Software Development Kit (SDK) is directly integrated with 30,000+ mobile apps. This integration enables complete creative control to deliver a compelling storefront-like experience to users through in-app native feeds & carousel ads.

The platform is already being leveraged as well by e-commerce companies across the globe including Myntra and PayTM in India, and Nuomi in China to drive up to 7% of mobile sales. On average, consumers are buying products worth around $25 through the platform translating to an average return of $8-$10 worth of transactions for every dollar spent by an advertiser.

Commenting on the launch of the remarketing platform in Indonesia, InMobi Co-founder & Chief Revenue Officer Abhay Singhal said, “The remarketing platform will be critical in enabling e-commerce businesses in Indonesia to extend beyond driving brand awareness and app installs, to increasing sales and transactions through mobile advertising. InMobi’s extensive reach of more than 66mn mobile users in Indonesia through strong publisher partnerships, coupled with the power of the remarketing platform, is the impetus needed for Indonesian e-commerce players to move into the next sphere of growth.”
