Auckland, 23 October 2015 - InMobi, the world’s most powerful mobile advertising platform, has been recognised in the prestigious global Smarties Awards 2015, from the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). The MMAs are the world’s only global marketing awards program, honouring innovation creativity and success.
A New Zealand campaign, Steinlager Pure Deep Dive’, won the APAC Bronze Award for Best Brand Experience in Mobile Rich Media and Bronze Award for Most Engaging Mobile Creative. The campaign – which was a collaboration between Lion / Steinlager, InMobi, Zenith OptiMedia and Fairfax NZ – focused on William Trubrudge’s world record attempt to free dive (holding his breath) to 102 metre on 3rd December last year.
Jon White, InMobi’s Regional Director and General Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said they were delighted for the recognition, particularly amongst competing entries from across the Asia Pacific region.
“It was a fun approach using gamification to simulate the dive on mobile, with users scrolling down their screen following William. It was visually engaging, complete with hammerhead sharks and schools of fish, with 82% of users interacting with the ad for more than one minute.”
InMobi also won the accolade of Enabling Technology Company of the Year in Mobile in the APAC awards.
InMobi received a further five awards for involvement in campaigns across Asia Pacific:
APAC Silver Innovation Award: Unilever / Lifebuoy and InMobi PTE Ltd and Mindshare Indonesia for ‘Lifebuoy Flood’.
Indonesian Silver Award for Best Promotion: Unilever Indonesia / Vaseline and Mindshare Indonesia & InMobi for ‘Vaseline Scores During World Cup Season’.
