Double the Smiles for InMobi and Glance at the SMARTIES Indonesia Awards 2023

The biggest names among brands, agencies, and technology providers graced MMA SMARTIES Indonesia 2023 to recognize the pioneers in mobile marketing. InMobi and Glance are honored to be recipients of two accolades for our highly successful campaign for Unilever’s Pepsodent, designed in partnership with Mindshare, Indonesia.


 


A gold for social impact marketing

For decades, Indonesians, particularly in rural and low-income areas, have faced dental issues due to limited awareness and access to care. 86% of the population never visited a dentist and 90% sought treatment only in extreme pain. Pepsodent, recognizing the urgency, initiated a change.

Partnering with 32 dentistry faculties for World Oral Health Day, Pepsodent aimed to increase awareness and offer free dental consultations. Collaborating with Mindshare, InMobi, and Glance, Pepsodent executed a comprehensive mobile campaign in Bahasa. The strategy, from Glance’s smart lock screen to app ecosystems, effectively drove dental consultations through teledentistry and in-person appointments, addressing crucial oral health concerns.

The results were impressive, with 1.67 million Indonesians reached and a 20% increase in free consultations compared to the previous year.

A silver in customer/user experience and design

This golden campaign could not have driven such an impact without an engaging user experience that offered valuable insights into dental care.

Pepsodent empathized with cost concerns, revealing a surprise for World Oral Health Day, all in the local language, Bahasa. To engage users on Glance before they unlock their phones, brand leveraged the power of creative messaging. A thought-provoking question on the smart lock screen had a call-to-action that led to a video that reinforced the message of visiting a dentist and offered a free consultation. Through InMobi, Pepsodent reached out to Indonesians across mobile app ecosystem and enticed them with a surprise for World Oral Health Day. On tapping to see the surprise, the viewer was led to an interactive rich media slider that let them pick their problem – cavities or sensitive teeth, after which they could book a free consultation.

It was evident that Indonesians loved this experience as it saw 150,000 interactions on Glance and 1.55x higher CTR than industry benchmark through InMobi. Delve deeper into the campaign’s strategy and execution here.
