London, United Kingdom, November 11, 2013 – InMobi, the world’s largest independent mobile ad network, today announced that Ian Dowds has joined as Vice President and General Manager, Brand, United Kingdom, France and German speaking countries (UK, FR & D-A-CH) to support regional growth.
InMobi’s brand business, which encompasses all work with advertising agencies, is experiencing impressive growth in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), with mobile becoming a key user acquisition channel for both brands and developers.
Dowds joins an impressive management team at InMobi, which includes Ed Laws, Vice President and General Manager, Performance, EMEA, and Richard O’Sullivan, serving as General Manager, Brand, Emerging Markets, EMEA.
Dowds joins InMobi with over 25 years of industry experience. Most recently, Dowds was Managing Director, Digital Media, at Trinity Mirror Plc., where he developed the company’s strategy for the, programmatic-selling and real-time bidding (RTB) ad market.
Dowds has held a range of leadership roles in the media industry, including Senior Vice President at Specific Media, where his United Kingdom operation was the launch pad for European success across 2009-2011, raising the company above 60 competitors to become the UK’s leading online ad-network.
Dowds has also held roles at Turner Entertainment Networks, working across all platforms and channels including Cartoon Network and TCM, and was also Managing Partner at WPP’s media specialist agency, MindShare, where he oversaw television planning and buying for key brands including Kellogg’s, Nike and Pfizer.
Recognized by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, Dowds was awarded Digital Commercial Director of the Year as well as Sales Director of The Year, at the 2011 National Sales Awards.
